Police: Dallas Officer Arrested For Hitting 8-Year-Old Daughter

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A Dallas officer was arrested by Royse City police for injury to a child, a first degree felony.

Dallas police said Sgt. Jamie McDonald, a 16-year veteran with the department, assaulted her 8-year-old daughter last Sunday.

The child's father told police that her face was bruised when he picked her up from McDonald's house. Her 12-year-old brother said McDonald hit the girl multiple times while disciplining her for using an electronic device.

Royse City Detectives were notified and upon further investigation, with the assistance of Children's Advocacy Center of Rockwall County, evidence revealed McDonald did hurt her daughter.
