Dallas Cowboys Player Accused Of DWI
IRVING, Texas (1080 KRLD) - A Dallas Cowboy offensive lineman could be facing a trial and a possible NFL suspension after being accused of DWI.
25-year old Ronald Leary was stopped in September 2012 for driving erratically and making multiple traffic violations in Irving according to a police report. The arresting officer claimed Leary had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech and smelled of alcohol.
Leary was given a filed sobriety test and reportedly failed. He was asked to give a blood sample, which he willingly gave.
Cowboys Player Accused Of DWI
Dallas attorney Pete Schulte says Leary could be facing an NFL suspension on top of any legal punishment.
"I'm sure the NFL is aware of the situation," said Schulte "We know from past cases that the NFL takes these issues very seriously and may be waiting for the case to be tried to see exactly what happens."
Neither Leary's attorney or the Dallas Cowboys organization would comment.
Leary has been with the Cowboys since 2012 and started all 16 games last season at the Guard position.
