Carrollton Murder Suspect Turns Self In To Denton County Deputies

CARROLLTON (CBSDFW.COM) - A Dallas man wanted in connection to a Saturday night murder has turned himself in to the Denton County Sheriff's Office.

Carrollton Police officer Dustin Bartram says Kevin Young shot Desmond Poe to death Saturday night.  He says Young had been calling his ex-girlfriend, and then went to her Carrollton home.  Once there Young found Poe, a friend of the woman, at the home.  Young started yelling at Poe, who tried to leave.  That's when Bartram says Young shot Poe, causally walking away from the victim, saying "he's dead."

Young drove off in an SUV that he later abandoned near the Bush Turnpike & Marsh Lane.

Poe, 34, was from Dallas and didn't even know Young.  Bartram says Poe and the woman were not in a relationship.

Young turned himself into the Denton County deputies late Monday afternoon.

Young is now in the Denton County jail on a $1 Million bond.
