Blood And Bullet Hole Found In Car Of Man Accused Of Murder

RICHARDSON (CBSDFW.COM) - Authorities are still looking for the body of a woman Richardson police believe was murdered by her boyfriend.

Jessie Bardwell, 27, was reported missing last Monday by her parents in Mississippi who grew suspicious after she failed to call on Mother's Day. Police have charged her live in boyfriend, Jason Lowe, with her murder.

Kevin Perlich with police says investigators feel Lowe may have disposed of her body, and believe the public may have some answers. "A person may have actually helped him become dislodged from the mud and may have actually pulled the front bumper from the car," he said.

He says the car is an 2010 Audi Q5 and isn't the type of vehicle someone would typically go mudding in. Lowe told police that's what he had done when they asked him why it was covered in mud.

A later search of the car uncovered large amounts of blood and a bullet hole.

Perlich says unfortunately, it was nearly two weeks from the last time anyone saw Bardwell alive, and the time she was reported missing.

"There is a great distance Lowe may have gone. He had a lot of time to do whatever he may have done. So we are trying to nail down a particular location or may have been in an area on a particular day to conduct a search," said Perlich.

Lowe was arrested in May of last year for aggravated assault, causing serious bodily injury in the alleged assault against his former girlfriend, causing her to lose consciousness, according to an affidavit.

Lowe is behind bars on a $1 million bond.
