Big Rig Drops Beam Near NTE Project

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - A crash Thursday morning shut down the exit from northbound Interstate-35W to westbound Loop 820 in north Fort Worth. It happened at about 10:00 a.m. along a stretch of highway that is already under construction.

This is part of the North Tarrant Express project, and drivers who are familiar with the area know that it can often be a nightmare because of the work currently being done. A crash does nothing to help matters.

A spokesperson for the North Tarrant Express project stated that a big rig hauling a single beam somehow lost its load on the exit ramp near the construction site. The semi and its beam were not related to the road work.

There has been no word about any injuries during this incident.

Drivers who need to travel through this part of North Texas should expect serious delays. Traffic could be impacted for several hours as crews work to clean up the mess. Check the traffic map for alternate routes.
