Horses are part of what makes Texas what it is. Even though Dallas is a huge city, there are plenty of places to experience this piece of Texas. Trail rides are usually one or two hours, and they have different locations around the Dallas/Forth Worth area. Riding lessons are also available. Many of the companies have a variety of horses and can match you with one that fits your level or ability.

Don't be put off by the name. Horses are well trained and, for the most part, gentle. Horses are chosen to fit the level of the rider. All rides are two hours, and they have a few different trails to choose from. The Walnut Grove trail is the most popular on Lake Grapevine. Most of their rides are on this trail, but they take riders to different areas with dense woods, creeks, meadows, hills and the lake shoreline.

This company also has a lot of rides along Lake Grapevine as well as some along the Walnut Grove Trail. They ride in a lot of wooded areas and try to give people opportunities to see wildlife, such as deer. They are open daily, except Wednesday and Thursday, and start as early as 9 a.m. with one and two hour trail rides available. Trail rides often go into the deep woods, and you are able to ride without having to stay in a line with other riders. They cater to all ages and have birthday parties available as well as summer riding lessons.

If you are a knowledgeable rider and have some ability, this might be just the place for you. They offer a variety of riding areas where you may ride as you please. You may also bring your own horse or your group may use a combination of your own horses and the stables' horses. They have rides of up to six hours, but will try to accommodate any type of ride you would like. They do birthday parties and offer lessons for all skill levels.
