Best DFW Restaurants Open On Thanksgiving

While Thanksgiving is traditionally a large meal around a dining room table, tradition doesn't always match reality. Whether you are traveling this Thanksgiving or just don't feel like cooking, eating out might be your best option. There are a surprising number of restaurants open in the area on Thanksgiving Day. Many of them are located in upscale hotels, since they have a built-in out-of-town clientele. Most of these restaurants offer special Thanksgiving meals, some less traditional than others, but all a delicious alternative to burned stuffing. Some of the best restaurants in the Dallas/Fort Worth are among them, so you can bet they will serve some of the best Thanksgiving food as well.

This elegant restaurant offers Thanksgiving brunch early in the day, followed by Thanksgiving dinner in the afternoon. The dinner menu can be ordered as a three-course prix-fixe meal or a la carte. It provides a twist on the traditional with offerings like cranberry-apple relish and pecan pie with house-made goat cheese ice cream. Central 214 is usually accommodating to vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free preferences, as well as children-friendly options.

At the Gaylord Texan, there is more than just food for Thanksgiving brunch. Brunch includes a buffet of custom omelets, turkey, a dessert display, children's buffet and more. Brunch is $71 for adults and $29 for children. It includes champagne, parking and tax as well. Live entertainment and an entire ice sculpture display are also part of the experience. The ice sculptures are a sight on their own. The theme this year is "The Nutcracker" and the exhibit is complete with the music of Tchaikovsky. The sculpture and ice slides do require an additional ticket, but can be purchased as a package with brunch.

Six 10 Grille is located in the Ashton Hotel in downtown Fort Worth. Thanksgiving dinner is offered at three seatings; 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The four-course prix-fixe meal begins by warming you up with a fall soup. It continues with a salad, choice of entrée and choice of traditional Thanksgiving dessert. Reservations are a must.

Fearing's is one of the most revered restaurants in Dallas. A vegetarian menu is available upon request every day, and with options like vegetarian tortilla soup, it offers a lot more than the vegetable plate you find at many steak restaurants. For Thanksgiving dinner, it doesn't disappoint. The three-course menu is available at lunch or dinner and includes three options for each course. The price tag is high, but so is the quality of the food.
