DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM/AP) - Officials say four Dallas firefighters suffered minor injuries after being exposed to fumes from pool chemicals while fighting a fire at an apartment complex.

Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans says the four firefighters were taken to a local hospital for observation Thursday morning, and all should recover.

Evans says it was before dawn when calls came in about the fire at the Residence at Midtown Apartments, in the 11600 block of Dennis Road, in northwest Dallas. Firefighters arrived to find flames coming from a two-story building that houses the leasing office, laundry and mail rooms and some storage areas.

Evans says one storage site contained pool chemicals and while they were never exposed to the fire the chemicals did emit fumes.

Authorities are trying to determine what sparked the fire that possibly started in the laundry room.
