DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) — One pedestrian died and another was critically injured after they were hit by a car Friday evening, police say.

Dallas police are charging Kevin Christman, 28, with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault after the car he was driving hit two pedestrians around 7:15 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Moody Street and Harry Hines Boulevard. A car had collided with the Nissan Maxima Christman was driving, and then the Maxima ran up onto the sidewalk, according to the department. The pedestrians were taken to Baylor Hospital.

Cedric Davis, 26, died from his injuries, police say. Lauren Davis, 26, died Saturday morning, according to the medical examiner.

Police say the driver of a Nissan Frontier was sitting at a red light in the 1800 block of Moody Street and began to drive east when the light changed. The Frontier collided with the Maxima Christman was driving, and the Maxima went onto the sidewalk.

Police say officers arrested Christman after finding he was intoxicated. He is in Lew Sterrett Jail.
