10-Year-Old Frisco Boy Honored For Helping Save Mom's Life

FRISCO (CBSDFW.COM) - CBS 11 News has obtained a dramatic 911 call that captures the heroic actions of a 10-year-old Frisco boy after his mother suffered a life-threatening seizure.

When Coleen Villarreal fell inside her garage and hit her head causing a seizure, her 10-year-old son Jaxson knew what to do.

911 Dispatcher: "911, What's the location of your emergency?"

Jaxson: "My mom just fell off the stairs and she's not talking"

"She kept banging her head and she would stops me my sister had to pull her out of the car," says Jaxson.

Jaxson realized his mom was having a seizure and his younger siblings could be heard on the 911 call screaming in fear.

But the fourth grader kept calm even earning the praise of the dispatcher.

Jaxson: "Her eyes are open, but she's not talking"

911 Dispatcher: "Can you tell if she's breathing?

Jaxson: "Yes she's breathing."

911 Dispatcher: "You're doing really good just keep talking to me OK?"

Jaxson: "OK."

"I knew I had to be brave to be able to do this," says Jaxson.

911 Dispatcher: "The firefighters are coming."

Jaxson: "You're OK, you're OK mom."

911 Dispatcher: "Good job, just keep telling her that she's OK"

911 Dispatcher: "Can you make sure the front doors unlocked so they can come inside?"

Jaxson: "OK."

Frisco's Fire Department honored Jaxson on Monday.

His mom, who has since recovered, could not be more proud.

"How he did what he did I have no idea," says Coleen Villarreal, Jaxon's Mother.

"Throughout the entire call he gave us the answers to any question we had; anything we needed to know he was able to tell us," said Logan Caddell with the Frisco Fire Department.

911 Dispatcher: "You're doing really good.  What's your name?"

Jaxson:  "Jaxson."

911 Dispatcher: "How old are you Jaxson?"

Jaxson: "I'm 10-years-old, sir."
