WIC gets temporary funding to help keep program going

The Women Infants Children (WIC) program was at risk of running out of money, given the federal government shutdown. The federal government has allocated it with a $300 million lifeline to keep operating for a few more weeks. More than 200,000 Michigan residents receive food assistance such as fresh produce and infant formula through this program.
