U.S. produces its last pennies

Penny production has ended as the United States minted its very last $0.01 coin. President Trump ordered the Mint to stop making the penny because each one costs nearly $0.04 to make. As pennies run short in circulation, retailers say they will round up or down to the nearest nickel for cash customers.
