School district settles lawsuit over student who refused to stand for Pledge of Allegiance

A free speech lawsuit against a Michigan school district involving a 14-year-old student's decision to remain silent for the Pledge of Allegiance has been settled. The ACLU of Michigan and the Arab American Civil Rights League announced that step on Thursday, saying the suit they filed in 2025 against Plymouth-Canton Community Schools was resolved.
