Edric Hinton was 19 years old when he was gunned down in Lansing in 2009. At the time, police said the firearm used in the shooting — a shotgun — had not been recovered. Nearly 20 years later, the case had a breakthrough after a confidential informant came forward, telling investigators where to find the weapon.
