"It was nice to see it coming out pretty good there," Verlander said Saturday, when he hit 96 and 97 on the radar gun in the fifth inning.
"I'm not setting any specific innings," Verlander said Wednesday. "I'll go as long as I can until they take the ball out of my hand."
"His pitch count is up and over 90, so there's not a lot of restraints," Ausmus said. "If he throws well, we'll roll with him."

Price was evidently sitting a bit farther from the court than Verlander, and he addressed the reason why in a hilarious way.
Even Verlander got a laugh from Price's tweets.
"I know it's a good team," manager Brad Ausmus said.
Ausmus said Verlander will still need to complete a rehab stint before he returns to action for Detroit.
After talking at length about the decision to place Martinez on the disabled list, Ausmus provided updates on Rondon and Verlander.

Verlander had hinted at the encouraging news on his Instagram feed Wednesday morning, when he posted a photo of a green traffic light.
"Green means go!!! Gas pedals on the right!"
Justin Verlander is trying to stay patient while he recovers from a strained right triceps. It is a difficult task for the right-hander.
In the meantime, another MRI of Verlander's arm is expected today where it's anticipated fans will get a clearer picture of when he'll return to the mound.
