The Detroit Red Wings shook off a poor start and avoided a stumble against one of the NHL's worst teams.
Niklas Kronwall, Teemu Pulkkinen, Justin Abdelkader and Pavel Datsyuk added goals to help Detroit send the Oilers to their fifth straight loss.
Zetterberg remains a reliable link to the team's championship past, part of an old guard that still includes Pavel Datsyuk and Niklas Kronwall as well.
"Sloppy from the beginning, too many turnovers from our side in the first period," Red Wings captain Henrik Zetterberg said.

Detroit's three-game winning streak was snapped, although the Red Wings outshot the Flames 35-24.

Moya believed he improved his plate discipline in the Arizona Fall League, where he recorded a batting average of .289.
The system Cole played in Dallas has several similarities to the one run by Detroit, so he expects to be able to get comfortable in it.
"Think they both can be prominent players," Babcock said. "It's going to take them some time to adjust, but we think it'll be a factor."
"We're trying to continue to really develop our team going forward so that we don't have to go into a massive rebuild," Holland said.
Holland would not confirm the Red Wings had pursued Phaneuf, saying he could not talk about another team's player.
Zidlicky, who has amassed 23 points in 63 games this season for New Jersey, will be a free agent after this season.
