Woman Killed In Waterford Accident

WATERFORD (WWJ) - Authorities are trying to learn more about the circumstances behind the death of an Oakland County woman Tuesday night after she was hit by a truck.

Police say the victim, a 58-year-old Waterford woman, was walking down the middle of Walton Blvd. near Sashabaw, when she was struck and killed by an oncoming pickup truck, just before 8:30 that evening. She was pronounced dead after being rushed to POH.

The driver of the pickup, a 33-year-old Waterford man, stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. They say he was not under the influence at the time. But it is still unknown why the woman was in the middle of the road when the sidewalks were clear.
