Why Nala Should Be Allowed To Go Anywhere With Me!
My dog Nala is my "fur baby!" I am a huge advocate of creating more pet-friendly places. This 11-year-old Chihuahua is my sidekick and I want to take her with me wherever I go.
First off, she is terrified of lightning and thunder. She hates to be alone during storms. During severe weather, she cowers in the corner or hides in the closet. Nala is about 12 lbs and fits in an over-the-shoulder carrier. Plus, (call me crazy) but I have a baby's play pen for her.
Secondly, she is well mannered. Whenever I take her to public places, she stays by my feet, without a leash. She knows not to run or bother other people. The only reason she may come up to other people is when they bend down to say "hello."
In an ideal world, Nala could come to work with me and stay in the play pen while I am on-air! Not sure that is going to work with my boss! But I will keep pushing, even though my efforts will fail.
Then after work, I would take her the gym. And in my ideal world, the gym would have a doggy daycare alongside the regular daycare.
After working out, in an ideal world, Nala and I would hang out at the mall!
I know I am just daydreaming, but she is my little companion! Nala should get an award for Most Well Behaved Dog.
When Nala is home alone, I fear she is lonely. Even worse... God forbid something happens at home, like a fire or carbon monoxide leak, I would never forgive myself if something happened to her.
At the end of the day, Nala is a small, well behaved child. The only difference between her and kids? She has fur!
I hope you enjoy looking at the pictures of her. The photos were taken in New York City by a photographer who specializes in pet pictures! Her name is Shaina Fishman.
But don't be fooled, it was NOT easy. This is the only time she was not well-behaved!
Here are some clips from the photoshoot:
