Who's Smiling In Detroit?
Having straight teeth often boosts a person's confidence and helps them to build better self-esteem. In honor of the late Dr. John Eagan, the first African American orthodontist in Michigan, his son Dr. J. Victor Eagan is giving away beautiful smiles to metro Detroiters.
In this world there are generous people and there are people like Dr. J. Victor Eagan of Eagan Orthodontics. People like Dr. Eagan are considered more than generous; he just has a giving heart. This year he is celebrating his family's 56-year orthodontic practice and father's legacy by awarding 56 free sets of braces to citizens of metro Detroit. In order to make sure the braces are going to the people who need it most, he has organized an outreach campaign called "Smiling in Metro Detroit" consisting of non-profits, media, churches, celebrity charities, dentist's offices, fraternities, and sororities. These organizations will be responsible for creating their own requirements for recipients to be given a free set of braces.
It's not everyday that someone is selfless enough to put their time and skill toward the betterment of the people in their community. Dr. Eagan's efforts truly are extraordinary and he will be rewarded through the gratitude shown in those recipient's smiles.
