VIRAL VIDEO: Passersby Save Dogs From Hot Car In Taylor
TAYLOR (WWJ) -- A viral video surfaced Saturday showing local pet lovers rescuing a pair of small dogs from a hot car this weekend.
The video -- which has more than 23,000 views and 500 shares -- was posted on Facebook by Bridgette Manners on Friday. The video shows a group of people gathering around a car in the Southland Center Mall parking lot as the dogs sit inside without any windows open.
On the scene -- along with the passersby -- was mall security. A back window of the car was eventually broken and the security team was able to rescue the dogs from the stifling heat.
"The all black one, he seemed like he was the worse one. He kept laying down on the floor underneath the seat and all you could see is just him panting really hard," Manners told WDIV.

The dogs' owner was reportedly taken into custody.
Temperatures reached 95 degrees in Taylor on Friday, which are much higher inside a car with closed windows.
