Viral Meningitis Reported At Livonia High School

There's case of viral meningitis at a Livonia high school.

School officials say a Livonia Stevenson student has a confirmed case of viral meningitis. This is the milder form of meningitis which usually gets better without treatment.  Bacterial meningitis is the more serious form, which poses a medical emergency.

Health officials say viral meningitis can develop after a person has already contracted another virus.  Symptoms include  high fever, severe headaches, stiff neck, nausea and vomiting.
