Two West Michigan Online Firms Merge

Two West Michigan online marketing and communications firms are joining forces.

Muskegon-based Qonverge and Relevant have merged to form a new firm, called Revel.

Over the past five years Qonverge and Relevant built a reputation for working together on  marketing campaigns and online communication. Qonverge specialized in online and video communication, and Relevant's main focus was marketing campaigns and branding. The two firms collaborated on campaigns for the Muskegon County Airport, Community Foundation for Muskegon County, Muskegon Area Chamber of Commerce, Pro Co Sound and the West Michigan Symphony.

"We continually brought in Relevant when there was a call for branding and strategy," said former Qonverge CEO and Revel partner Jason Piasecki. "It made sense for us to merge because we've been working together for five years already."

Added former Relevant owner and Revel partner Don Kalisz: "We found ourselves gravitating towards working with Qonverge on complex web developments. It was only a matter of time before we made this a more formal relationship."

"Both companies didn't need to do this, we wanted to do this," said past Qonverge COO and Revel partner Andy Maciejewski. "We're coming into this merger from a position of strength. We're bringing in more staff to keep up with the growth and serve our clients. The best is yet to come."

Revel is headquartered in downtown Muskegon in the historic Hume Building in the space previously occupied by the Muskegon Area Chamber of Commerce. The company also has an office in downtown Grand Rapids upstairs from HopCat Brewery.

Qonverge came into the merger with 10 employees, Relevant with three. One position was consolidated, leaving the merged firm with 12 employees.
