Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work

DETROIT (WWJ) – Know before you go! Don't let construction activities spoil your weekend plans.

WWJ's John Baily said few construction activities are scheduled for this weekend, but several roads will be closed for Holiday parades.

The following projects were announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.

I-94:

In Macomb County, bridge maintenance will require the left and center lanes of westbound I-94 to be closed at Nine Mile Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily today and tomorrow. The right lane of westbound I-94 will be closed at Nine Mile Road from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 7 a.m. to noon on Sunday. If weather doesn't permit the work to occur, it will be completed next week during the first available day between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

M-150 (Rochester Road):

In Oakland County, the right lane of northbound Rochester Road will be closed at Arlington Street in Rochester Hills from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily on Friday, Dec. 2 and Monday, Dec 5 weather permitting. The lane closure is needed for sewer work.

The following permits are approved for holiday parades:

M-150 (Rochester Road):

In Oakland County, northbound and southbound Rochester Road will be closed between Second Street and Tienken Road from Noon until 5 p.m. on Sunday. Detours will be under police control.

M-24:

In Oakland County, northbound and southbound M-24 will be closed between Broadway Street and First Street on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for the Ortonville Parade.  Detours will be posted.

M-59:

In Oakland County, eastbound and westbound M-59 will be closed between Franklin and Saginaw streets for the Pontiac Holiday Extravaganza Parade on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Detours will be posted.
