Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work

DETROIT (WWJ) - Know before you go! It might be a little rainy this weekend, but construction activities could still put a damper on your plans.

The following projects were announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.

I-696:

In Macomb County, eastbound and westbound I-696 will be closed at M-97 (Groesbeck) from noon Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday for bridge demolition. Traffic will be routed to the service drives in each direction.

I-75:

In Oakland County, the eastbound Square Lake Road ramp to southbound I-75 will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 p.m. Sunday for pavement repair. A detour will be posted.

I-96:

In Oakland County, a single lane will be closed on westbound I-96 at Kent Lake Road from noon until 7 p.m. Saturday for ongoing bridge work. In addition, a single lane will be closed on westbound I-96 from Milford to Kent Lake roads from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

In Oakland County, eastbound I-96 will have a single lane closed from Kent Lake to Milford roads from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

I-94:

In Wayne County, the left two lanes of westbound I-94 will be closed from Cadieux to Outer Drive from 9 p.m. Friday until 8 a.m. Saturday for ongoing bridge work.

In Wayne County, the left two lanes of eastbound I-94 will be closed from Outer Drive to Cadieux from 9 p.m. Saturday until 8 a.m. Sunday for ongoing bridge work.

I-275:

In Wayne County, the right two lanes of southbound I-275 will be closed from Ford to Cherry Hill roads from 7 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday for pavement repair.

M-150 (Rochester Road):

In Oakland County, a single lane is closed on southbound M-150 from University Drive to the Paint Creek bridge from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily until early November for utility relocation work.

M-39 (Southfield Freeway):

In Oakland and Wayne counties, wrap up work on the M-39 freeway will require the following restrictions:

• From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, a single lane will be closed from M-10 to Pembroke.
• From 9 p.m. Friday until 6 p.m. Saturday, only a single lane will be open southbound from 7 Mile to I-96.
• From 9 p.m. Friday until 3 p.m. Saturday, only a single lane will be open northbound from Plymouth to Outer Drive.
• From 6 p.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday, a single lane will be closed southbound from 7 Mile to I-96.
• From 6 p.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday, a single lane will be closed northbound from Plymouth Road to 8 Mile.

And just as a reminder, beginning the week of Oct. 17 in Oakland County, northbound M-1 (Woodward Ave.) will have intermittent single lane closures from Fairwood to Devonshire roads in Pleasant Ridge, daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for two weeks for utility work.
