Tips Sought After Pedestrian Killed During Apparent Drag Race

FLINT (WWJ/AP) - Police are seeking tips from the public as they investigate the death of a man who was struck and killed by two cars that may have been drag racing in Flint.

Authorities have identified the man who was hit late Friday as 44-year-old Richard Perry Albrant, The Flint Journal reported.

Police say the man was walking across Dort Highway when he was hit. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Before he was hit, the cars had pulled from the parking lot of a business and accelerated along Dort Highway. The drivers of both cars fled after hitting him.

According to investigators, both cars are Pontiac Grand Prixs -- one car was red and one was black. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.

Officials say the stretch of Dort Highway is known for people driving recklessly or drag racing.
