Three reasons Brandon Inge made the right decision to accept his assignment to the minor leagues.
1. It kept his career alive. If he didn't accept it, Inge would still get paid, but it wouldn't be to play. Not in the major leagues anyway. No other major league team was going to put him on its 25-man roster.
2. The Tigers are still paying him a boat load of money. They have a lot invested in Inge, so the Tigers are the club mostly likely to give him another big league chance.
3. He lives in the Ann Arbor area year round. Where else is he going to play that is closer to home than Detroit or Toledo?
