This Time, Little Things Add Up To Big Positive For Tigers

It was a reversal of the way things have been going for Detroit, the little things they did turned out to be big and the little things they didn't do stayed small.

Manager Jim Leyland moved struggling Brennan Boesch back to second in the batting order and the right fielder responded with a hit-and-run single that triggered a four-run first inning in an eventual 7-5 victory over Cleveland.

Boesch added an RBI double in the middle of a three-run fourth when green-lighted on a 3-and-0 pitch.

Leyland's insertion of Matt Young in the second spot two games earlier resulted in four strikeouts and a loss.

The Tigers also turned two double plays, a part of their game that can be found at the bottom of the stat sheet.

Joaquin Benoit faced seven batters in 1 1/3 innings and gave up a walk plus two singles, but no runs.
