Tech Stories To Watch In 2015

SOUTHFIELD (CBS Detroit) - Following a year in technology that featured new iPhones, hackings and mergers, 2015 could top the previous year with a number of new advancements and products.

Apple, Microsoft and Compuware are among the companies which are expected to roll out new products in the coming year.

Among the tech items to look forward to in 2015 include:

  • Detroit-based Compuware is expected to introduce a new product on Jan. 5. This is going to be one of the first major products introduced by the company since it was purchased by purchased by a private equity firm.
  • Microsoft will release Windows 10 which is expected to be a blend of live tiles from Windows 8 and the traditional mouse and list of the programs. Additionally, there may be a new browser to replace Explorer.
  • Apple is expected to bring to market its Apple Watch in two sizes and three different collections. Other features may include health apps, messaging and check-in options.
  • More people may cut the cord with cable service as channels such as HBO launches a stand alone streaming service.
  • Internet security is expected to be a continued concern as hackers both home and abroad attempt to gain access to business and personal accounts.
