Take In A Christmas Classic With A Charitable Twist

REDFORD (WWJ) - One of the most beloved Christmas movie classics is showing at the Old Redford Theater this weekend -- "Miracle on 34th Street."

In the spirit of the holiday season, moviegoers will have a chance to help the needy at Christine's Soup Kitchen in Detroit.

"I'd volunteered there with my daughter and seen then need," said the Old Redford Theatre's Linda Sykes. "Especially this time of year, the theatre wants to show its sense of community, and that's why we put together this event."

Sykes said each person who donates a canned good or personal hygiene item, will be eligible to win a special gift basket.

Tickets are $4. Show times are Friday and Saturday evening at 7 p.m. with a special matinée at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
