Syma Style: Making Food While Being Fashionable

The holidays are here!  If you are anything like me, that means you are in the kitchen more often now than you have been all year!

If the cooking duties are bestowed upon you, that doesn't mean you have to look drab or wear an old apron over your nice clothes.

There is another option!  Wear your nice holiday dress with a really cute apron.  Simple as that!

Many stores are now offering fancy, yet affordable, aprons -- so you have to hang up the "Kiss the Cook" ones.

On Thanksgiving I wore a printed apron from Pier One.  If you take a quick look, you may think it is part of my outfit.  But it is a frilly apron!  I felt like it dressed-up my look.

The bonus of wearing a printed apron is if you splash food on yourself, you may not be able to see it.  If you wear a solid print, it would be more noticeable.

My favorite aprons come from the store Anthropologie.  They are known for selling clothes, but they have an enormous home section.

Right now, they have a kitchen section that is perfect for the holidays.

Some of the aprons look like they are dresses -- if seen straight on.  When you take a look at the back, it is a typical apron.

In conclusion, I want to remind you to make sure the food isn't the ONLY star in the kitchen!  Do something nice for yourself and look fabulous next to the food!

There is an Anthropologie in Troy and Birmingjam.

There are more than a dozen Pier One stores in the Metro Detroit area.
