Suspects Caught Using Credit Card After Stealing Elderly Woman's Purse

WESTLAND (WWJ) -- Two people are in custody after allegedly snatching an elderly woman's purse and then using her credit card in multiple cities.

A 16-year-old from Romulus has been turned over to the 3rd Circuit Court Juvenile Division after Westland police say the suspect stole a purse off the 83-year-old woman's shoulder in the Value World parking lot on Central City Parkway.

His name is not being released because he is a juvenile.

Brent Gray, 18, also of Romulus, drove the getaway car. He has been arraigned on a list of charges, including unarmed robbery and the illegal use of a financial transaction device.

Gray is ordered to have a GPS tether worn until his next court appearance.
