Survey Will Examine Services Provided By Post Office

DETROIT (WWJ) - Last year, the United States Postal Service lost $8.5-billion dollars. So far this year, its lost $2.2-billion. As part of overall budget concerns - it's still considering the elimination of Saturday delivery.

Postmaster General Patrick Donahue was asked about the demise of Saturday delivery: "What we are facing is a substantial amount of cost pressure around the loss of first class mail   and it's caused us to look at everything. One of the things we've looked at is the elimination of Saturday mail," said Donahue.

Now, the post office wants you to access the services of the postal agency. WWJ's Gary Lundy has more about the survey.

The survey takes about five minutes to fill out and send back. It's being conducted by an independent company, and they'd like it back by the end of the month.

And yes, the survey company will pay the postage to mail it back.
