Summer Scorcher!
It's a summer scorcher.
The National Weather Service says a warm air mass over the eastern U.S. is sending temperatures rising well above normal from the mid-Atlantic states to Connecticut.
Locally, a Heat Advisory remains in effect until 11 o'clock Wednesday night -- with temperatures expected in the middle 90's again today and tomorrow. Officials say the intense heat is likely to blame for the death of a homeless woman who lived in her car in Waterford Township. The Oakland County Medical Examiner's Office reported the cause of death as hyperthermia brought on by extreme high temperatures.
