Storage Unit Near Flint Held 710 Pounds Of Pot

SWARTZ CREEK (AP) - Federal agents say they discovered 710 pounds of marijuana in a self-storage unit in Genesee County.

The disclosure was made Wednesday as authorities filed charges against a Flint man, William Lott. The 28 bales of marijuana were found last week at Bee Safe Storage in Swartz Creek, 10 miles southwest of Flint.

Homeland security agent Brian Helmerson says another 26-pound bale was seized at Lott's home. Helmerson says Lott admitted renting the storage unit to store marijuana for co-conspirators in the drug enterprise.

Lott has not appeared yet in federal court. No attorney was listed in the case.
