Stoneys Six Pack
I now bring you six random thoughts that are running through my weird brain right now.
1. The Lions will beat the Packers Sunday and play the Giants in the first round of the playoffs next Sunday. Despite not winning at Lambeau since 1991, the Lions will prevail for two reasons. One they are on a roll and the other is Green Bay will rest many of their starters for most of the game including Aaron Rogers. The Giants, who have been poor at home, will still find a way to beat Dallas. The Cowboys are an accident waiting to happen. They have lost too many close games this season and thus the bad karma will continue.
2. Just a hunch but both Michigan and MSU will win their bowl games. MSU's defense will stymie Aaron Murray to win a close game. The Wolverines will have more trouble with "Beamer Ball "than most think, but I think they should be able to win a high scoring game.
3. Tayshaun Prince does not want to be here. I don't care what he says, his body language says, "Why did I come back?" And he is not the only thin small forward who has a problem. Austin Daye should be ashamed of himself. He publicly talked about how great it is that the Pistons now provide breakfast for the players and fly out of Oakland County Airport. Well he sure showed his thanks by shooting blanks in the first two games. Seriously, the guy has not scored a point yet.
4. Dick Clark should be banned from TV on New Year's Eve. I know it may be cruel, but to see him slur his words, fighting his stroke is tough to watch. For those who have a problem with me stuttering at times, I somehow think this is worse,
5. So let me get this straight. Scientists and researchers can make pills that prevent pregnancy and cure erectile dysfunction, but they can't make a healthy pill that can get rid of fat. I know I am searching for the lazy way out, but it does seem silly doesn't it?
6. The Red Wings continue to amaze me. No they are not the best team in the league, but for over two decades fans know that they have a decent chance to win the Stanley Cup. What other team in sports can make that claim? Uh, how about none. That's right, the Lakers and Spurs actually did have at least one year without a playoff berth in that time period.
