'State Champs!' Welcomes The Fall With Great High School Sports Action

Hard to believe we're already in the fifth week of the fall season, but hey, you know the saying "time flies when you're having fun!" This week we're putting on the shin guards, as our main event takes us all the way across the state to the Rockford vs East Kentwood Soccer matchup.

On the gridiron, prepare to get roughed up in some BIG rivalries! First, the Trackers travel to Dearborn insight of retaliation after last year's 24-14 loss. Then we take you to Catholic Central to get in the huddle and see if Brother Rice can step up in the pocket to break the shamrock's undefeated streak.

Lorne Plant brings you the first Wright & Filippis "No Limits" story as we meet Halley Sellers of the Monroe High School Golf Team. Despite her disability, her prosthetic leg has her reaching new heights!

As you can tell this week, it's all about the rivals and of course pure talent of Michigan high school athletes! In fact, Tom Markowski and Lorne Plant talk stats in our Mr. Football Race. As always, we have plenty of highlights so you don't miss a thing. Prepare to put your fins on and jump in, as our cameras are rolling at the Cranbrook vs Birmingham Groves Girls Swimming match. We'll also bump, dive and score in the Novi vs Northville Volleyball game.

Make sure to connect with us ALL FALL LONG on Twitter @statechampsnet and remember to like us on Facebook. So, the moral of the story is: Put on the fall sweaters, get some hot cider and donuts, make sure to remember that if it's Sunday, it'salways STATE CHAMPS!
