Startup Weekend Coming To Lansing: 54 Hours Of Innovation

EAST LANSING -- Lansing Startup Weekend kicks off this Friday at the East Lansing Hatch, 325 E. Grand River Ave. Suite 345.

The event, now in its third year, is an informal platform for people with innovative ideas to collaborate with one another in a short timeframe to produce viable business concepts. Starting at 6 p.m. on Friday evening, participants will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas in hopes of gaining support from others looking to offer their expertise to these startup ideas.

What follows is two days of intensive work to develop the businesses as far as possible before pitching to investors and thought-leaders on Sunday evening.

The largest foundation for entrepreneurship in the world, The Kauffman Foundation, is a heavy supporter of Startup Weekend events globally. In total, Startup Weekend has produced 5,005 companies or ideas, of which 36 percent survived at least three months.
