Stamp Prices Will Increase On Sunday

DETROIT (WWJ) - The price of a stamp is set to rise a penny on Sunday to 45 cents. Meanwhile, mailing a post card will cost an extra three cents, up to 32.

Margaret Miller of Benton Harbor stopped by the Novi Post Office ahead of the price change to stock up on forever stamps -- which people can still use when the price goes up.

"I think about 200 and that will do us for a long time, we email more anyways, as it is I pay all my bills online - so I very seldom use the post office," said Miller.

The U.S. Postal Service says the price hike needed to help the agency out of a financial crisis brought on by declining mail volume.
