Semi-Truck Trailer 'Cracked In Half' On SB I-75 In Monroe
MONROE (WWJ) - Southbound I-75 through Monroe was closed for hours Tuesday after a semi-truck trailer cracked in half and blocked all three lanes of traffic.
Michigan State Police say the incident happened around 5:50 a.m. near North Dixie Highway.
According to witnesses, the middle of the trailer cracked in half, causing the center of the trailer to drag on the road. The driver was able to bring the trailer to a stop, but it sat blocking all lanes of travel.
Police say the trailer was only half full, carrying about 30,000 pounds of general merchandise.
No injuries were reported.
