Small Fire Hits Ohio Jeep Complex Paint Shop

TOLEDO, Ohio (WWJ/AP) - A small fire broke out and was quickly contained in a paint shop at a Chrysler Corp. Jeep complex in Ohio.

Toledo fire officials said one worker was treated at the scene for inhaling smoke Thursday morning and was taken to a hospital as a precaution.

Chrysler's manufacturing spokesperson Jodi Tobin said the fire was minor and that it started in one of the paint ovens.

"This is a singular oven," Tobin told WWJ Newsradio 950.  "The rest of the paint shop and the rest of the assembly shop continued to operate so there was no danger to any of the workers in the plant in the areas that continues to run."

Tobin said workers at the plant had already taken care of the fire by the time firefighters arrived on the scene.
