Madison Heights police investigating shots fired call; no victims have come forward

MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. (CBS DETROIT) - Numerous gunshots were fired Thursday night in two locations along University Avenue in Madison Heights, police reported. 

Officers were sent to the area, which is north of Eleven Mile Road, about 8 p.m. on a report of shots fired, a Madison Heights Police Department press release said. While they did find numerous gunshots in the area of Osmun Street and University Avenue; and also near Lorenz Street and University Avenue, no property damage was discovered. 

No victims have come forward to report being shot at. 

"Detectives are continuing our investigation and are asking any witnesses or people with information to contact the Madison Heights Police Department. At this time, we believe that there is no danger to the public," the report said.
