Shooting In Walled Lake- A Livonia Police Officer Among The Dead

Livonia Police held a press conference Monday evening to address the shooting death of Livonia Police Officer Larry Nehasil. Nehasil was a 20-year veteran of the police force. Officer Nehasil leaves behind a wife and two children.

Nehasil was assigned to the intelligence unit of Livonia police and died in the line of duty. At the time of his death he was covering a breaking and entering crime in progress. The suspect was also killed; that name has not been disclosed.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office will conduct the investigation.

WWJ's Mike Campbell reports that along with the undercover police officer from the city of Livonia, a second person, one of the suspects in the breaking and entering is dead, with another person in custody.

This is the first death of a Livonia officer in the line of duty in the history of the Livonia police force.
