Scherzer Bounces Back With 15-Strikeout Effort
RHP Max Scherzer never doubts himself.
After struggling through a four-inning start May 15, there was some pressure on Scherzer to rebound.
And when RHP Rick Porcello followed with a four-inning bomb May 16, manager Jim Leyland noted "that's just not good enough" from the two rotation fixtures.
"I always believe the next time I go out there I'm going to have a great start," Scherzer said.
Well, he did that, striking out 15 batters in seven innings of a 4-3 victory over Pittsburgh.
