Royals Rip 17 Hits, Take Series From Tigers
Last year, Magglio Ordoñez hit his third homer of the season in late June.
This year, he hit it this afternoon, in the ninth game of the season.
Ordõnez lined a 390-foot, bases-empty homer off Kansas City right-hander Kyle Davies. It provided an early 1-0 lead for Tigers starter Rick Porcello, but Detroit couldn't hold on, losing, 7-3, at Comerica Park.
