Royal Oak City Meeting Expected To Debate Layoffs & New Clubs
ROYAL OAK (WWJ) - Officials in Oakland County's Royal Oak are expected to discuss police layoffs and plans for new nightclubs in the city.
Officers from two neighboring departments helped break up fights May 22 and handle crowds estimated at 200 people in downtown Royal Oak.
The issue is expected to be debated Monday at a city commission meeting.
Royal Oak has 70 sworn police officers -- down from 103 in 2003.
