Report: Tigers To Call Up Relievers When Rosters Expand

The Tigers are likely to call up some relievers once rosters expand, according to Mlive.com's Chris Iott.

The Tigers haven't really called up that many players in September since Jim Leyland has been the manager. But the team is in need of help in the bullpen. Iott and colleague James Schmehl looked at which relievers are most likely to get the call.

Al Alburquerque seems like a good bet to be called up. Alburquerque, who is coming off elbow surgery, has been very effective on his rehab assignment.

Duane Below does not look like a candidate to be called up. Below and pitcher Drew Smyly are very similar, and it doesn't make sense for the Tigers to carry both players. Smyly is already on the team, and it doesn't look like the Tigers will try to replace him.
