--RW Tomas Holmstrom will need some time to get back into game condition and regain his timing after missing nine games with a broken right hand. Holmstrom had no points and three giveaways and was out of sync Wednesday in his first game back.

--D Ruslan Salei scored his first goal of the season, his first in 60 games dating back to March 21, 2010, when he played for Colorado. The stay-at-home defenseman, who rarely joins the rush, was the only Wing who hadn't scored a goal.

--D Jakub Kindl hasn't been as strong the last three games. He has been plagued by turnovers and taken a couple of penalties. Kindl had been solid since replacing an injured Brad Stuart on Jan. 8.

MEDICAL WATCH

--C Mike Modano (wrist surgery) was injured on Nov. 26 and is expected back in early March.

--D Brad Stuart (broken jaw) was injured on Jan. 7 and is due back in late February.

--G Chris Osgood (hernia) had surgery on Jan. 11 and is due back in early March.

--RW Jan Mursak (bruised toe) was injured on Saturday and is due back later this week.

--C Valtteri Filppula (sprained knee) was injured on Monday and is listed as week-to-week.
