--After seeing the Wings pass up too many shooting opportunities Thursday, particularly on the power play, Mike Modano said they need to go back to a "shot mentality." As a puck-possession team, the Wings, particularly on the power play, have a tendency to make one pass too many, looking to set up the perfect shot. Modano said it's best to fire away and work for rebounds and second chances.

--The Sharks have won three in a row from the Wings this season and are 7-2 vs. Detroit dating to their second-round playoff series last year. The Wings, however, insist San Jose does not have their number and that they are not intimidated by the bigger, more physical Sharks.
