Random MD Thoughts
1. I know his team got humiliated last night, but I still think Rex Ryan is one of the NFL's best coaches. His Jets have an identity and not a lot of Pro Bowlers on offense, yet, they win. Ryan also is not afraid to take chances and is good for the league. He doesn't make excuses either.
2. The Pistons need to beat the Rockets tonight in H-Town. No Yao Ming, no Aaron Brooks, and Shane Battier is not 100 percent due to the flu. Detroit must take advantage of this and snap a five game road skid. Plus, they have to play the NBA Hornets tomorrow night and NBA Hornets are playing pretty well.
3. Wasn't that great seeing Suzy Kolber on ESPN's MNF Postgame show last night and not Stuart Scott?
4. The Tigers have had the best off-season so far of any of the AL Central teams and I base that on one factor: Bullpen. Tigers add Joaquin Benoit, while the Twins and White Sox have not added, but subtracted. It is still early.
5. With that being said, I am not for moving Phil Coke in to the rotation. I love his bulldog mentality out of the 'pen and he always wants the ball.
6. Louis Delmas has played 27 NFL games. He has started 27 NFL games for the Lions. He has TWO.. count em... TWO interceptions. Both were last year. That is not good enough. The Bears Major Wright is finally healthy and contributing at safety, and he was drafted AFTER the Lions took Amari Spievay. Lions are better, yes, but that still doesn't mean that the front office is off the hook for drafting errors.
7. Anyone else enjoy watching Mike Valenti's boy-toy, Mark Sanchez, struggle last night? LOL.
