Poll: Michiganian Or Michigander?
LANSING (WWJ) - If you're from Michigan, do you call yourself a "Michiganian" or a "Michigander?"
Some people feel the Michigander term is insulting to women. Mlive.com reported that during Governor Rick Snyder's recent appearance before the Michigan Press Association, a woman in the audience asked him to use "Michiganian," because Michigander is not gender neutral.
Snyder said he once asked an expert to investigate the origins of each term to determine which was best. The Governor promised to continue investigating.
